How does ROOK structure data?

Our approach to data structure is determined through a categorical approach to each health category. Today, we define that through our core pillars: User Information, Physical Health, Body Health, and Sleep.

Understanding our data structure

Data will be sent within each pillar as an Event or as a Summary.

Event data

Event data captures specific moments in a user's experience. An example is 'activity events,' which are recorded right after a user completes a physical activity, such as a 30-minute run. This data provides detailed insights into the specific activity the user engaged in.

Summary data

Summary data aggregates information over a set period for a user. For instance, daily physical health summaries, compiled at the day's end, include metrics like total steps taken or calories burned. This data offers a comprehensive view of the user's activities throughout the day.

Our data pillars

Our approach is anchored in a robust data structure that intricately combines summaries and events through our four pillars.

  1. User Information
The User Information pillar is fundamental, containing essential data like name, birth date, gender, height, and weight. This personal information sets the stage for a detailed health profile. ROOK keeps all PHI information encrypted in accordance with HIPAA.

  2. Physical Health Insights
This pillar captures a wide range of data, from overall physical activities to specific events detailing heart rate, oxygen levels, and stress. Physical activity summaries provide a broad overview of exercise routines, while individual events offer in-depth details on activities and vital health metrics.

  3. Body Health
The Body Health pillar is an extensive data repository, covering aspects like blood glucose, blood pressure, heart rate, hydration, mood, nutrition, oxygen levels, and body temperature. Both summaries and specific events in this pillar provide snapshots of the user's overall health, from glucose levels and nutrition to mood variations.

  4. Sleep Health
The Sleep Health pillar contains all data associated with sleep patterns, encompassing sleep duration, quality, and stages like Deep Sleep, REM Sleep, and Light Sleep. Summaries distill key aspects of the previous night's sleep, aiding users in developing healthier sleeping habits.
