How do I manage members, co-owners and account ownership?

Written by JP Gomez

Account → Members is where Owners, Co-owners and Admins invite, adjust the access of, and remove people from a single Client. Two account-wide mechanisms sit outside that per-Client list: Co-owners, who get Owner-level access across every Client an Owner owns, and Transfer ownership, which hands the Owner role to someone else entirely.

How do I invite a member?

Account → Members → Add member. Enter their email and pick a role per environment — Admin, Editor or Read Only (Owner/Co-owner aren't assigned here; see below). They receive an email to accept.

If the seat limit is reached, Add member is disabled — remove someone or upgrade the plan first.

If the email can't be sent, the invitation is still created — a link modal opens so you can share it yourself. It expires in 14 days.

How do I change, resend or remove a member's access?

Three actions are available for an existing member:

  • Change access — pick a member, set their role per environment, save. Changes apply immediately.

  • Resend invite — only available while status is Invited.

  • Remove — revokes their access to this Client right away.

Admins can't touch other active Admins. Only Owners and Co-owners can change an Admin's role or remove them once they've accepted — an Admin can still resend a pending invite.

What happens when someone accepts an invitation?

The invitee opens the link, signs in or creates an account with that email, and sees which Client and role(s) they're being offered before accepting or declining.

What is a co-owner, and who can add one?

Account → Profile → Co-owners. A co-owner gets Owner-level access — Plans, Payments, Legal, Members — across every Client you own, not just one. Only the Owner can name or remove a co-owner.

How do I transfer ownership of my account?

Account → Profile → Transfer ownership. Enter the new owner's email; they get an invitation to accept from their own account. You lose Owner access the moment they accept — nothing changes before that.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Why can't I remove this Admin? Only an Owner or Co-owner can — another Admin can't remove or downgrade an active Admin.

  2. Invitation link expired. Send a new one — the 14-day link isn't renewable.

  3. Does a co-owner count as a "member" per Client? No — co-ownership is account-wide and separate from the per-Client member list.

  4. I'm leaving the company — what do I hand over? If you're the sole Owner, transfer ownership first. If you're a co-owner or member, ask the Owner to remove your access.
